Apple Health + Calerio: getting the full picture

3 min read

Calorie tracking without activity data tells half the story. A 2,000-calorie day means something different on a day you walked 12,000 steps than on a day you didn't leave the couch. Connecting Apple Health closes that gap.

What flows in

With permission, Calerio reads your steps, active energy, and body weight from Apple Health. Active energy adjusts your remaining calorie budget for the day — burn more, and your target moves to reflect it, instead of staying fixed regardless of what you did.

What flows back out

Weigh-ins you log in Calerio write back to Apple Health automatically, so your weight trend stays consistent whether you check it in Calerio, in Health, or in any other app that reads from Health. No second entry, no risk of the two apps disagreeing.

You control this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. Turning it off just means Calerio falls back to a fixed daily target — nothing breaks, you just lose the automatic adjustment.
